Is there a great difference between 3.5 and 3.8 GPA?

  • December 23, 2016

Many students think that having a perfect GPA will make them stand out in real life. However, this is not the truth. While it is satisfying to think this way because that is what sells in the classroom, the reality is quite different.

In reality, whatever that crosses a 3.5 GPA does not really make a great difference. In other words, we can say that the law of diminishing marginal returns also works with the GPA once it crosses the 3.5 mark. This is why they say that one should focus equally on extracurricular activities and on experiences other things in college life. Most employers will prefer a student with a 3.5 and many other achievements, instead of a student with 4.0 and no other achievements. For instance, a student who relies on college essay writing services to get essay assignments written does not get a grade that is different from those students who write their essays on their own. Hence, one should try to work smarter rather than working hard and reducing the quality of their lives.

Students in college should know how to maintain the right balance between their studies and other activities. This is how one adds quality in college life.
