I keep hearing how bad Carson Wentz was this season, and while I agree he was inconsistent at times and generally too slow to get started, the bottom line is that even hampered by a knee that wasn’t 100 percent and a broken bone in his back, he still had a higher passer rating than Jared Goff, Andrew Luck, Brady, Dak Prescott and Aaron Rodgers. He played 11 games and was very good in nine of them, mediocre in one of them (Indianapolis) and terrible in one of them (New Orleans). Look for yourself at his season game by game. I’ve already been using this one in articles here on Bleeding Green Nation. The problem with this one is it’s not practical to say out-loud. “Jay Jay Ay Double You” doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue. “Jay Jaw” also sounds weird.JJAWN Not bad. Combining his initials with Philly slang. More fun to say out-loud than “Jay Jaw.” JAWS In talking to some Stanford fans, I’ve learned this is how they referred to him. That’s obviously not going to work here. We already have “Jaws” in Ron Jaworski, who is very much still involved in the Philly scene. JJI’ve used this to refer to him out-loud on BGN Radio. It’s okay. I don’t love it becoming the most popular option, especially with J.J. Redick already playing for the Sixers. CuervoSome of his Stanford teammates referred to him as this since his first name is Jose. I like it. The concept might be confusing for some non-drinkers. ArcegatronAnother nickname used by his Stanford teammates. This nickname makes sense in specific situations. Catching a wide open touchdown pass due to a blown coverage doesn’t warrant people breaking out “ARCEGATRON!” Him catching a jump ball touchdown with a defender draped all over him in the end zone very much does.SpiderAnother nickname used by his Stanford teammates “because his arms and legs are all over the place, stretching, leaping, clawing, doing anything he can do to make a catch. To make one more highlight.” I like this one but I also can’t not be reminded of Varys from Game of Thrones.SegaThis might be the winner. References part of first last name.
