US PC game charts: August 20-26

  • After more than on a monthly basis on top, World of Warcraft was finally knocked out from the number one slot from the PC game chart in the week of August 20-26. According to weekly sales-volume rankings in the NPD group, that it was usurped through the debut of some other mammoth title, Electronic Arts' Madden NFL 07.     
    Madden was the biggest--and only--all-new game within the PC top 10 charts. The classic compilation Warcraft III Battle Chest thundered back into the highest 10 nearly 36 months after its release, conquering seventh place. It was joined by another reentry Buy Warmane Gold, 2K Games and Bethesda Softworks' Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in 10th.      
    The rest with the chart was filled by familiar faces. The Sims 2 arrived third, and then Roller Coaster Tycoon 3: Gold in fourth. Nancy Drew: Danger By Design sleuthed its method to fifth, ahead in the Sims 2: Open For Business expansion pack.
