We’ve read about CEOs, CFOs, and COOs, but I can’t say I’ve ever heard about a CDO. That’s the modern title for industry veteran Chris Corry, who was simply announced yesterday as NCSoft’s Chief Development Officer, a newly created role that may see him “liable for overseeing all development inside the west.”
That’s quite a all-encompassing role, the one Tera Items which might mean Corry can have an affect Blade & Soul, Aion, Guild Wars 2, and WildStar, and also the Lineage franchise. While his most up-to-date jobs were at Kabam and Zynga, he’s got a substantial non-mobile, non-social media gaming background, by this biographical profile:
At EA Los Angeles, he was the growth director of The Lord in the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth, senior development director of The Lord on the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II and Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, and executive producer of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3.
That said, considering the outstanding success of Tera Gold Lineage M in Korea, it wouldn’t be surprising in any respect for Corry’s main task to get replicating that success within the West.
