Danielle Rothweiler News: ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Star

  Danielle Rothweiler is refreshingly straight-no chaser. The candid yet laugh-inducing celebrity wedding planner and founder of Rothweiler Event Design--who has overseen events ranging from the engagement party ofJerseylicious star, Tracy DiMarco to the Sweet 16 throwdown of Real Housewives New Jersey's Jillian Staub--is in a zone. At the moment, Rothweiler is discussing what she describes as the ridiculously gorgeous nuptials ofDancing With The Stars' standout Lindsay Arnold.

  "Her wedding looked so good!" she beams of her experience quarterbacking Arnold's big day. "But of course, when you are working with bridesmaids that are all from Dancing With The Stars it reminded me that I need to lose 45 pounds [laughs]."

  But some weddings don't go as planned--more specifically, the televised union of Vanderpump Rules' Scheana Marie to Mike Shay. Enstars caught up with Rothweiler to discuss how she became the go-to East Coast-based reality TV wedding planner and how she saw her client list grow after overseeing the bridal day from hell.

  Enstars: So, how did you become the go-to reality TV show wedding planner?

  Rothweiler: My office is in New Jersey...I'm from Jersey, and Jersey seems to be the hot spot for 9 billion reality shows [laughs]. I'm in Northern Jersey, so I'm right by Bergen County, so all the New Jersey Housewives are there. I've known a lot of the cast members between Housewives and Jerseylicious. And my wedding was on TLC's Four Weddings.

  So it's fair to say a lot of your clients come to you.

  Well, I run in those circles. Between knowing these celebrity reality stars and doing their events, to running into them at events, it's a small world.

  In a past interview you opened up about the negative experience you had as the wedding planner forVanderpump Rules' Scheana Marie. Looking back, what went wrong?

  I was just talking to my husband about this. I very much do not believe in having regrets because you learn something from every situation. Each situation takes you to the next place you are supposed to be. But I would make an exception for [Scheana Marie's] wedding. If I could go back in time I would make an exception for that. I would turn her down as a client. I would not do it...I would say, "No thank you."

  Could you be more specific?

  Working with [Scheana] leading up to her wedding was great. It was fine. We went out for dinner and drinks in New York when she was out here. Actually, the day of the wedding was fine until 3 o'clock in the afternoon when they started filming. That's when everything started going wrong. Listen, my wedding was on Four Weddings. I know what happens with television and producers. They don't care about your timeline. They throw everything behind. That's just how it goes. And [Scheana] should have known that. I guess she thought her wedding was going to be different, but the producers were like, "Oh, I'm sorry...you wanted to start at 6 p.m.? Well, the producers still have to film something."

  Sounds like a fiasco waiting to happen....

  Her DJ had never done a wedding before. He didn't show up to the rehearsal. And then he showed up wasted and botched the entrance music. [Scheana] is screaming at me and I'm like, "This guy is an idiot...you hired him." And then they are cuing the singer to sing and I'm like, "That's my job. You are stepping on my toes. I don't tell you how to use a camera, so please don't tell me how to run a wedding."
