The business was swimwear manufacturer China http://www.swimwear-manufacturers.com/ started 10 years ago by Adam Brown, a former photographer who wanted to create tailored shorts to swim in. Mr Brown has said he was inspired to launch the swimwear brand after being unimpressed by the lack of options for image-conscious men who wanted to go from the pool to the dinner table.
The brand, which sells shorts wholesale swimwear http://www.wholesale-swimwear.com/ from £95 to £395, received a significant boost after Daniel Craig wore a pair of its blue shorts in his role as James Bond. Since then, it has attracted a coterie of celebrity fans, including rapper Jay-Z, model David Gandy and actors Damien Lewis and Michael Fassbender.
Last year, David Cameron was also photographed wearing a pair of the brand’s £225 “Bulldog Roc Pool” shorts while on his first holiday since leaving office.
Turnover is forecast to reach £23m this year on the back of strong online and UK sales. The business generates more than half of its turnover from outside the UK after opening shops in the US, Australia, Turkey, France and Kuwait.
The success of its international expansion so far is understood to have prompted Mr Brown to hire advisers at Cavendish Corporate Finance to explore investment options for the business. The company is expected to attract interest from private equity firms.
