Phantasy Star Online 2 (PSO2), Sega's sci-fi-themed, massively multiplayer online (MMO) game, came out eight years ago for meseta pso2 Windows. You might not keep in mind that if you live in North America, since it didn't come out here at the time. It's been a strong two console generations now, but lovers of the first Phantasy Star Online will soon enjoy the sequel. Phantasy Star Online 2 is free-to-play on the Xbox One, plus also a Windows 10 version will start later this year (PS4 and Nintendo Switch variants started in Japan in 2016 and 2018, but no word on US releases on those platforms has been given). The game is currently in open beta, so we won't give it a critique score before it completely releases. However, even in beta form, PSO2 is a action-filled, hack-and-slash-and-shoot adventure with a thorough equipment system and an unobtrusive premium money component.

PSO2's concept is straightforward. The huge shuttle Oracle is investigating the stars to find habitable and resource-filled planets. You're part of ARKS, Oracle's frontline task force to scout these planets and ensure they're secure. That is pretty much the full excuse the game provides before allowing you to set up a character. You'll take your character through various dangerous environments, fighting creatures and collecting loot on the way. The character creation system offers a generous amount of customization choices. You can choose from four distinct races, each with male and female forms: Individuals, Newmans (space elves), Deumans (space dark elves), and CASTs (robot folks ).

After establishing those traits, you can personalize your own face and body by means of a variety of characteristics. You can also add unique accessories and tweak add on details like facial hair, scars, jewelry, and clothing. Most of these tweaks are completely cosmetic, but the race you choose can impact certain stats from the game to some minor extent. You also pick from seven beginning courses. Two additional courses, Gunner and Techer, are unlocked afterwards as you perform.

I played as a Ranger from the beta, a course equipped with an assault rifle, a launcher, and also a melee-focused gunblade. The assault rifle is a useful burst-fire weapon type that sprays bursts of bullets at enemies, or may fire specialty aimed and homing shots for more precise power. The launcher is an explosives-shooting weapon which fires more gradually than the assault rifle, but packs a big punch with crowd-hitting splash damage. The gunblade is a sword with a gun built into it, designed for close-quarters fighting. Each weapon has its own collection of abilities and skills, triggered with the Y, X, and right bumper buttons, along with a secondary set of 3 abilities brought by holding down the left trigger for a total of six at a time.

Equipment can get complex, with each weapon and item having its own collections of stats which improve your personality, along with characteristics that provide added bonuses. You can prepare yourself for combat easily enough by simply equipping the items which have the greatest numbers, but actually digging to the stats that help your character and keeping a look out for certain perks is worthwhile. If you find a piece of gear you like, you can improve it using consumable items and additional equipment you do not have to"feed" the weapon or armor, leveling it up and enhancing its own stats. You can also carry over perks from different items through a similar method, enabling you to PSO2 Meseta for sale tweak your loadout even farther.
