Madden 22's MVP Edition Cover Doesn't Have the Literal NFL MVP

  • August 6, 2021

When EA released the Madden 22 cover earlier in the day, fans quickly noticed that something was wrong. Despite it being the MVP edition of Madden 22 coins the annual NFL simulation there was a glaring omission of the most recent MVP.

Aaron Rodgers was the Green Bay Packers quarterback. The Packers finished with a 13-3 record, and another NFC Championship Game appearance. (He was defeated). This is an incredible experience for me as an Minnesota Vikings fan. In the present, Rodgers involved in an unsettling feud with the Packers (again tremendous joy) But it hasn't stopped some fans from pondering the absence of the currently MVP.

Madden 22's "ultrarare two-player cover" instead include Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes -- two former Madden cover stars. Mahomes appeared in Madden 20, and Brady was featured in Madden 18.

Madden had a pretty rough 2020 but, being the only NFL sim on the market, being featured on the cover confers a certain degree of prestige. If it weren't for Rodgers, then Madden 21 could have been with any of the candidates that include Aaron Donald or Derrick Henry, or rising stars like Justin Herbert. However, Madden 22 is rolling with familiar faces And people are bored. EA might bring back fan voting to allow Peyton Hillis to be featured on the cover.

Madden 22 will be coming to the Xbox Series X and PS5 PS4 and Xbox One. We have a sneak peek that shows 10 major changes. They include homefield advantageas well as the option to hire offensive and defensive coordinators, and cheap Mut 22 coins much more.
