About Me
The Greek Theater Berkeley has an unusual history. It was not originally intended to be a performance venue, but was designed as a meeting facility for the shiners. The lavish interior was meant to resemble courtyard. The theatre's ceiling was painted as a night sky, complete with twinkling stars and moving clouds produced with the help of a special projector. The lobby areas and lounges were filled with ornate details. Even essential structural elements were cleverly disguised by decorative features.
